Palio electrical issues

I'm having some weird electrical issues with my 2012 Fiat Palio diesel. It's got about 50,000 km on it. Sometimes, I get random errors popping up, or the warning lights will come on for no reason. The radio and navigation will cut out sometimes too, or the whole thing just freezes up. I checked the error memory and there's definitely something stored there. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Summary of the thread

A 2012 Fiat Palio diesel with 50,000 km is experiencing random electrical issues, including error messages, warning lights, and disruptions in the radio and navigation systems. The problem is suspected to be related to a faulty connection to the control unit, specifically the BUS system cable. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle inspected by a professional, which successfully resolved the issue by addressing the defective cable connection.

I also own a Palio, and it sounds like you're experiencing something similar to what I went through a while back. Does it seem to happen more when the car's been running for a while, or is it totally random? Did you notice any other symptoms besides the radio and navigation?

It does seem pretty random, but maybe a little more frequent when it's been running a while, now that you mention it. As for other symptoms, no, just the errors and the radio/navigation dying. What was it like for you? Any other advice on how to fix it?

Yeah, mine was doing almost the exact same thing. Random errors, radio cutting out. Turned out to be a dodgy connection to the control unit, specifically the BUS system cable. I ended up taking it to a workshop, they found it pretty quick. It's probably best to get it checked out properly, rather than trying to fix it yourself and potentially making it worse.

Thanks a lot for the info! I really appreciate it. I'll take it to a shop and mention the BUS system cable connection. Hopefully, it's a quick and easy fix. Turns out it was exactly what you said - the cable connection to the control unit was defective. Cost me 155€, but at least it's sorted now!
