Sluggish is a good word for it! It's definitely not as responsive as it used to be. So, you think it's definitely the exhaust back pressure sensor then? What did you end up doing to fix it?

Honestly, based on what you're describing, it's highly likely. I wouldn't mess with it too much yourself. I remember trying to clean mine once and it made things worse. I'd suggest taking it to a reliable workshop. They can diagnose it properly and replace the sensor. My repair cost was around 250€ including labor.

Thanks a lot! I was hoping it wouldn't come to that, but it sounds like the best bet. I'll take it to a mechanic and get it checked out. Hopefully, it's just the sensor and nothing more serious. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same problem with my Palio a while back. Smoke and a light? Yep, sounds like the exhaust sensor to me. Was the car also acting sluggish, like it's lost some power?
