Panda Air Conditioning Rear Flap Error

Hi, I've got a 2012 Fiat Panda, diesel engine, with nearly 200k km on the clock. Recently, the air conditioning has stopped cooling properly. I've scanned it and it's showing an error related to the rear ventilation flap. Anyone else had this issue? It also seems to have affected the climate control unit, and air isn't getting to the back. Could a defective cable or plug connection really be the cause? I'm not very experienced, so any help is welcome.

Summary of the thread

A 2012 Fiat Panda owner experienced an issue with the air conditioning not cooling properly, linked to an error with the rear ventilation flap. The problem seemed to affect the entire climate control system, with air not reaching the back. A possible cause was identified as a defective cable or plug connection. After considering advice to check connections, the owner decided to visit a workshop, where the issue was confirmed to be a faulty connection and subsequently fixed.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Rear ventilation flap, eh? Error stored and affecting the whole climate control... sounds familiar. I'd double-check all the connections you can easily access before diving deeper. Have you tried wiggling any of the plugs connected to the climate control unit to see if anything changes?

Thanks for the quick reply! Wiggling the plugs... I'll give that a shot. But where exactly should I be looking? Are we talking about the main unit in the dashboard, or are there other connections related to the rear ventilation that I should be checking first? And how easy is it to get to the rear flap itself?

Yeah, it's likely the connections to the main unit, but also trace any wiring going towards the rear. Accessing the rear flap directly can be a pain, often involves removing trim panels. Honestly, with those symptoms, and the stored error, sounds like a trip to a workshop is inevitable. They'll have the right tools to diagnose it properly. Think of it this way, do you really want to rip apart your interior trim?

Thanks a lot for the advice! I think you're right. I'll take it to a workshop. Just got the bill - 95€ to fix it. Turns out it was indeed a faulty connection as we suspected! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
