Panda Exhaust Flap Issue

Need some help with my 2003 Fiat Panda, gasoline version, about 164k km on the clock. I think the exhaust flaps are shot. I'm getting an error and the exhaust sounds louder than usual, especially after a cold start. Anyone else run into this?

I had a similar issue on my old Opel Corsa. Same symptoms: exhaust noise, error code. Check the flap motor and its wiring. Sometimes it's not the flap itself, but a faulty actuator. Is the noise consistent, or does it change with RPM?

Good call on the actuator, hadn't considered that directly. The noise is definitely worse on startup and seems to quiet down a little as it warms up. Where was the flap actuator located on your Corsa? Was it easy to access?

On the Corsa, it was right on the exhaust system, after the cat. But honestly, given the symptoms and error code, it's probably best to just get it checked at a workshop. They have the tools to properly diagnose the flap and actuator function.

Appreciate the advice! Took it to the shop and you were right, the flap actuator was the culprit. New one installed, error's gone, and the exhaust is back to normal. Cost me 190€, but it’s worth it.
