Panda Heater barely any heat

Heater's barely putting out any heat in my 2005 Fiat Panda diesel, and I'm getting an error code for the water valve. The valve seems mechanically sound. Mileage is 205836 km. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Summary of the thread

The heater in a 2005 Fiat Panda diesel was barely producing heat, with an error code indicating a water valve issue. Although the valve appeared mechanically sound, the problem was traced to a corroded connector plug on the valve. Cleaning or replacing the corroded connector resolved the issue, restoring proper heater function.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar heating issue with my Panda, also a diesel. The error pointed towards a valve issue, but the connector plug was corroded. Have you looked closely at the plug and wiring? These connectors aren't very waterproof.

Was this the connector directly on the valve, or further back? Was the corrosion obvious, or did it require probing?

Yep, the connector directly on the valve. The corrosion wasn't immediately obvious, it looked okay at first. Needed a wiggle and a close inspection to see the green fur. Honestly, I'd just take it to a workshop.

I appreciate the info. It was a corroded connector like you said. Local garage charged me 95€ for the repair. All sorted now!
