Panda oil contamination
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Fiat Panda with a diesel engine exhibited warning lights related to oil pressure, potentially due to oil contamination. Thanks for the info! How did you figure out it was oil contamination? What did the contaminated oil look like?

Well, I didn't figure it out myself initially. The engine started sounding rough. I took it to a workshop, and they diagnosed the oil contamination and excessive oil sludge pretty quickly. The oil was black and sludgy, not the usual golden brown. Apparently, exceeding the maintenance interval can cause this. They recommended an oil change and a new oil filter. Best to get it checked to prevent potential engine damage.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a mechanic, and it turned out to be exactly what you said: oil contamination due to exceeding the maintenance interval. An oil change and a new filter fixed the issue. Cost me 165€.

Hey, I also have a Panda. I had similar symptoms not long ago. In my case, the oil was contaminated, causing the oil pump to struggle. Have you checked the oil's condition? Contamination can cause oil sludge (thickened oil). When was the last time you changed your oil and oil filter?
