Panda oil pressure warning lamp

Hi, I'm having a worrying issue with my 2022 Fiat Panda (gasoline engine). The oil pressure warning lamp keeps lighting up, and there are some loud mechanical noises coming from the engine. I checked the oil level, and it seems fine. The car has 248676 km on it. Anyone experienced something similar? I'm a bit worried it might be serious.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Panda. Check the oil pressure gauge, if you have one. Is your engine oil old or the wrong viscosity? Have you checked for oil leakage?

Thanks for the quick reply! No oil pressure gauge, unfortunately. The oil was changed about 8000 km ago, so it shouldn't be too old. I used the recommended viscosity. I haven't noticed any oil leaks, but I'll double-check. What was the cause of your issue?

In my case, it turned out to be a defect in the oil pump. Better get it checked at the workshop. Those noises are not good. Could end up costing you! It cost me 755€!
