Panda oil pressure warning lamp
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Fiat Panda owner is experiencing an oil pressure warning light and loud mechanical noises from the engine, despite the oil level appearing normal. Possible causes include a defect in the oil pump, as suggested by another individual who faced a similar issue. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop, where the oil pump may need replacement to resolve the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! No oil pressure gauge, unfortunately. The oil was changed about 8000 km ago, so it shouldn't be too old. I used the recommended viscosity. I haven't noticed any oil leaks, but I'll double-check. What was the cause of your issue?

In my case, it turned out to be a defect in the oil pump. Better get it checked at the workshop. Those noises are not good. Could end up costing you! It cost me 755€!

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was the oil pump. Getting it replaced now. Hopefully, that'll solve the problem. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Panda. Check the oil pressure gauge, if you have one. Is your engine oil old or the wrong viscosity? Have you checked for oil leakage?
