Parking heater malfunction in Renault Clio 2024: looking for suggested solutions and workshop experience

Hi guys, I need your help. My Renault Clio from 2024 with 67,230 km mileage and a gasoline engine just won't start. I'm afraid it could be due to a malfunction of the parking heater. The problem is that I'm really cautious after my last rather bad experience with the garage. Can you tell me if you've had similar problems and how your garage solved it? Any information would be really helpful! Many thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem last year with my Renault Megane, model year 2022. The culprit was actually the glow plug, which was defective, just as you suspect. This caused the car not to start. At my garage they had to replace the broken glow pin. It was a bit technical and they had to dismantle some parts to get at it properly, but it wasn't a serious problem. After replacing the glow pin, my car started again without any problems. So, no worries. If it really is a faulty glow plug, it should be fixed quickly. You should take your car to a garage and have it checked. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. It almost sounds like I'm in luck if it's just the glow plug. Can you remember how much it cost you at the garage? And were there any further complications after the repair or has everything gone smoothly since then? Best regards!

Hey, yes, I remember it cost me €560 to replace the glow plug. Not exactly a bargain, but since then everything has been running smoothly again. And yes, the heater malfunction hasn't reared its ugly head since the visit to the mechanic. So all in all, you have nothing to worry about. It seems that the repair has fixed everything. Best regards!

Hi again, that's really helpful, thank you. It doesn't exactly get me excited to spend so much money, but if the problem is solved afterwards, it would definitely be worth it. You really don't want to get stuck in winter with a faulty parking heater. I think I'll give the garage a call and make an appointment so they can take a closer look. Thanks again and have a nice day! Best regards!
