Power drain, huh? I hadn't thought of that. How would I even go about checking that, and what's the connection to the optical locking thing I mentioned?

Well, in my case, the faulty alarm module was draining the battery even when the car was off. And yeah, the optical locking can mess things up if it's not coded correctly. Honestly, I'd just take it to a workshop. They'll have the tools to properly diagnose the issue before you start throwing parts at it. I ended up regretting not going sooner. It's like trying to fix your computer when you don't know how to code.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a workshop, and you were right; the alarm system was coded to activate the optical locking, which was causing the errors. They recoded it, and it's fixed now. Cost me 45€.

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same thing happen with my old Audi A3, though it was a petrol version. The alarm would just randomly freak out, lights flashing like a Christmas tree, even though nothing was triggering it. Did you check for any power drain issues? It's like when your phone battery suddenly dies even when you thought it was fully charged.
