Steering column, eh? That's a pain. How exactly did you figure that out? Was it obvious, or did you need special tools to find the broken wire? Because I don't have a multimeter or access to wiring diagrams atm...

The diagnosis necessitated a methodical continuity test using a multimeter to trace the fault within the wiring harness. While a visual inspection may reveal obvious damage, internal fractures within the wiring insulation often require precise measurement. Given your lack of testing equipment and reference materials, it would be prudent to seek assistance from a qualified automotive technician. The fault can be located with little effort and the repair should not cost a lot. I would expect something around 95€

Okay, thanks for the advice! I was hoping it would be something simple, but it sounds like I need to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. I'll let you know the outcome. Turns out that it was indeed a faulty cable/plug as you and the error memory indicated. They did a clean job!

I understand you are experiencing difficulties with your windshield wipers. I encountered a similar malfunction with a 2018 Citroen C4, where the wipers ceased operation and a corresponding error code was registered. In my case, the disruption was traced to a fractured wire within the steering column assembly, specifically affecting the wiper switch circuit. Have you conducted a thorough visual inspection of the wiring harness and connector associated with the wiper motor and switch?
