Pathfinder Sunroof Not Initialized Error
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Nissan Pathfinder is experiencing a 'sunroof not initialized' error, causing the sunblind to be stuck and the sunroof to be inoperable. This issue arose after coding work was done on the vehicle, suggesting that the Body Control Module (BCM) may have lost its sunroof settings. The recommended solution is to take the car to a workshop with the appropriate diagnostic tools to reinitialize the sunroof module, as DIY attempts could potentially worsen the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! The error shows up as soon as I start the car. So, if the BCM lost its settings, what would be the next step? Is there a way to reinitialize it myself, or am I looking at a trip to the shop?

Yeah, that's how mine was acting too. If it's constantly throwing the error, it's probably a coding issue. Best bet is to take it to a workshop with the right diagnostic tools to reinitialize the sunroof module. You could try some DIY resets, but you might mess things up even more without the right equipment.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I took it to a shop and they were able to reinitialize the sunroof. Cost me 75€, but at least it's working now!

Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my Pathfinder. Does the error pop up immediately, or only when you try to use the sunroof controls? Maybe the BCM lost its sunroof settings during the coding.
