Patrol Generator Issue

I'm having some trouble with my 2014 Nissan Patrol (gasoline engine). It's got 117492 km on it. Lately, I've noticed reduced engine power, a warning light on the speedometer, and the car struggles to start sometimes. The lights also seem weak and flicker occasionally. I scanned it, and there's an error stored related to the generator. Could this be a defective generator?

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Patrol. Reduced power and flickering lights, especially at idle. Did you check the battery voltage? A failing generator can definitely cause those symptoms.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the battery voltage directly, but the error code pointed towards the generator. When yours had this problem, was it a straightforward generator replacement, or were there other things involved?

For me, it was just the generator. Once replaced, all the symptoms disappeared. But get it checked by a workshop to be completely sure.
