Patrol Overheating Electric Fan Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Nissan Patrol is experiencing engine overheating due to an electric fan issue. The fan is not spinning at all, suggesting a possible defective cable or plug connection. A similar issue was resolved by checking for wiring faults or a dead fan motor. The problem was confirmed to be a defective connector, which was repaired at a workshop.

Thanks for the reply! By impaired I mean, that the fan is not spinning at all anymore. Do you recall if your fan motor was completely dead or intermittent before it failed?

Mine failed completely and without prior intermittent fails. Given that yours isn't spinning at all, it's highly likely a wiring fault or a dead fan motor. I'd advise getting it checked by a workshop – they'll be able to diagnose it properly and avoid further damages to the cooling system. Vehicle overheating can become a serious problem very fast.

Appreciate the insight. I've taken it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a defective connector. Repair cost was 95€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

I've got a Patrol myself, and I had a similar overheating issue a while back. When you say 'impaired,' what exactly do you mean? Is the fan not spinning at all, spinning slowly, or cutting in and out intermittently? If it's not spinning at all, it could be the fan motor itself, or a blown fuse. The electric fan is essential for engine cooling, especially in hot conditions or during heavy loads.
