Peugeot 1007 Fault Memory Lock Active
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Peugeot 1007 owner reported a 'fault memory lock active' issue, suspecting an undervoltage problem. Another owner with a similar model suggested checking the fault codes using an automotive diagnostics tool, as it could be related to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) or another control unit. The issue was confirmed to be due to undervoltage, and the owner resolved it by visiting a workshop.

Thank you for your reply. Could you please elaborate on what you mean by "ECU" and "control unit"? I'm still learning about these things.

Sure thing. The ECU is the Engine Control Unit, basically the car's computer. A control unit is a more general term, but it refers to any module that controls a specific system in the car. In my case, it turned out to be a low voltage issue triggering the fault. You might want to have a workshop check it out. It'll be difficult without proper diagnostics.

I appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop and, as suspected, it was indeed undervoltage. The repair cost was 240€. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

I have the same model, and I experienced something similar last year. Did you check the fault codes with an automotive diagnostics tool? It could be related to the ECU or some other control unit showing an active memory fault.
