Peugeot 1007 TCM Fault

My 2005 Peugeot 1007 (gasoline engine) refuses to start. It has 101393 km. The check engine light is on, and the gearbox feels like it's slipping with unclean shifts. My OBD2 scanner shows an error code related to the automatic transmission parking position. Could it be related to the park brake or gear shifter linkage, or a defective control unit?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue on my Peugeot 1007. Is the error code specifically pointing to the transmission control module (TCM)?

Yeah, the code seems to be related to the TCM. Did you experience the same symptoms – engine not starting, check engine light, and the gearbox acting up?

Yep, all those symptoms. Turned out the TCM was indeed faulty. You should get it checked at a reputable workshop. These things are a pain to diagnose properly without the right gear.

I suspected as much. I dropped it off at the shop, and they confirmed it's the TCM. They quoted me around 1000€ for the repair. At least I know what's wrong.
