Peugeot 1007 turn signal error

I've got an annoying electrical issue with my 2008 Peugeot 1007, it's the gasoline engine version. I'm getting a persistent error related to the turn signal lamp. The dashboard is displaying an error message, and the computer has stored a fault in its memory, which points to a lighting problem. All the lights seem to work fine, but I suspect it is probably the turn indicator on one side. Before taking it to the shop I checked the bulbs and connectors. Does anyone have experience with this? The car has 196248 km.

I had a similar issue with my old Opel Corsa. It turned out to be a corroded connector in the indicator light housing. Those things can cause all sorts of weird electrical gremlins. Have you checked the condition of the connector and wiring harness that goes to the turn signal?

Thanks for your reply. When you say 'connector', do you mean the plug that connects directly to the bulb holder, or somewhere else in the wiring?

Yes, I'm referring to the plug that connects directly to the bulb holder. In my case, it looked fine at first glance, but closer inspection revealed some corrosion inside. It's probably best to take it to a workshop. But a defective cable or plug connection is likely to blame.

Okay, thanks a lot for your help! I took it to a local garage and they found indeed the signal lamp connector with some corrosion. They replaced the connector and the cables and the error disappeared. Repair cost me 95€. Thanks again!
