I don't recall the exact location. I'd suggest a professional diagnosis since airbags are crucial for safety. It might be a cable or plug connection, as you suspected. I paid around 95€ for the repair.

I had a similar issue with my 106. The airbag system can be quite sensitive. Faulty connections are a common cause.
