Peugeot 106 Battery Drain

Hi, I'm having a weird battery issue with my 2001 Peugeot 106 diesel. The battery keeps draining, and I'm getting an error message in the speedometer. The lights are also weak and flickering sometimes. I scanned it and there's an error stored in the memory, plus the battery is obviously weak when starting. I'm suspecting a defective battery sensor, any thoughts?

I had similar issues with my 106. Is the drain constant, or does it happen intermittently?

Good question. It seems intermittent. Some days it's fine, others it's completely dead. Did yours behave the same way?

marcomoon73

Yes, exactly the same. Intermittent drain is a pain to diagnose yourself. Best get it to a workshop, they will be able to pinpoint the cause of the battery drain.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice! Took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – turned out to be a defective battery sensor. Repair cost was 315€. All sorted now.
