Thank you for your prompt response. I have not yet utilized a mechanical gauge to ascertain the oil pressure; I was relying solely on the dashboard indicator. The auditory anomaly presents itself concurrently with the illumination of the warning lamp, suggesting a potential correlation. Would you concur that pursuing a mechanical gauge reading would constitute a prudent initial step?

Definitely get a mechanical reading. It's like checking your blood pressure twice to be sure. If it confirms low pressure, especially with those noises, it's likely the oil pump struggling to do its job. At that point, I'd strongly suggest heading to a workshop. Ignoring it could be catastrophic for the engine.

I extend my sincere gratitude for your invaluable guidance. Following your recommendation, I consulted with a trusted mechanic, who corroborated the diagnosis of a failing oil pump. The repairs, inclusive of parts and labor, amounted to 755€. The issue has been successfully resolved, and the engine now operates smoothly. Your assistance has been instrumental in averting potentially severe engine damage.

Hey there! I had a similar scare with my 106. That low oil pressure light is never a good sign. If you're hearing weird noises too, that really points to an oil issue. Before jumping to the oil pump, have you checked the oil pressure gauge with a mechanical gauge to confirm the reading? Sometimes those sensors can be faulty. Is the noise constant, or only when the light is on?
