Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the pads and rotors initially, but maybe I wasn't thorough enough. What exactly should I be looking for beyond just the thickness of the pads? Could metal brakes cause this, or is that just a squeaky brakes issue?

While visual inspection provides some insight, subtle irregularities or imbalances can be missed. I recommend a comprehensive assessment by a qualified technician. Given the potential for electrical involvement and the associated safety implications, pursuing professional diagnostics is the prudent course of action. It could save you a lot of headache. It is like checking if the foundation of a building is cracked.

Okay, I appreciate the cautious approach. I took your advice and brought it to a workshop. Turns out it WAS related to undervoltage causing the ABS to act up. New brake pads and rotors (since they were worn) plus addressing the electrical issue set me back about 240€, but it's driving much better now. Thanks again!

Good day. The symptoms you describe, particularly the unusual feedback through the brake pedal, can indeed be attributed to electrical anomalies. However, have you considered the condition of the brake pads themselves? Uneven wear or contamination can sometimes manifest in similar ways. Before delving into more complex electrical diagnostics, a thorough inspection of the braking components is warranted.
