That's interesting! No repair work done recently, at least not that I know of. Where exactly was the dodgy connection in your Megane? Was it hard to find?

It was a real headache to find! I had to take it to a workshop because I couldn't figure it out myself. They told me it was a defective cable or plug connection of the component. If I were you, I'd just take it to a workshop. It's a safety issue, like a faulty parachute, so it's not worth messing around with.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a shop, and you were spot on. They found a defective connection in the emergency call module wiring. Cost me 95€ to fix. Appreciate the help!

Sounds like a pain! I had something similar happen in my old Renault Megane. The symptoms were almost identical – error message, warning light, the whole shebang. In my case, it turned out to be a dodgy connection in the wiring harness for the emergency call module. It's like a loose wire in a lamp - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Was there any repair work done on your car lately?
