Peugeot 107 fuel filter heater problem

I have a 2011 Peugeot 107, diesel engine, with 294019 km. I'm encountering issues that appear to be related to the fuel filter heater. Symptoms include an error stored in the error memory, reduced engine power, poor engine response, higher fuel consumption, and uneven idling. Examination suggests a potentially defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced similar problems?

Sounds frustrating! I had something similar with my 107, though I didn't check the error memory. The car was just running rough, and my fuel economy tanked. I was convinced it was a bad batch of fuel or something. Have you tried just replacing the fuel filter itself?

Thanks for the reply. Filter replacement is certainly an option, but given the diagnostic pointing to the heater circuit, I am hesitant to proceed without further investigation. Did your issue resolve after the filter replacement, or did you have to address wiring?

Okay, so I only replaced the filter, and honestly, it helped a bit, but the problem came back. I messed around with it for ages, and then I gave up and took it to a workshop. They told me it was a problem with the fuel filter heater, and the plug was corroded, which they fixed.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. Considering your outcome, I will likely take it to a workshop for further diagnosis and repair. The estimated repair cost is around 95€, which seems reasonable. Thank you for confirming the issue.
