Peugeot 107 Knock Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Peugeot 107 is experiencing issues such as the check engine light being on, increased fuel consumption, and uneven idling. The suspected cause is a defective knock sensor, possibly due to issues with the cable or plug connection. A similar case confirmed that cleaning the sensor contacts provided temporary relief, but ultimately, replacing the sensor resolved the problem. It is advised to seek a diagnostic assessment from a workshop to confirm the issue and proceed with replacement if necessary.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks for the quick reply! The wiring is my primary suspicion. Could you describe the specific symptoms you observed? Also, did you do any specific diagnostics before replacing the sensor? I want to avoid unnecessary costs if possible.

No worries, happy to help! Yeah, my symptoms were pretty much the same: check engine light, rough idle, and the fuel economy went down the drain. I tried cleaning the contacts on the sensor and the connector, but it only helped for a little while. Eventually, I gave up and took it to my usual workshop. They confirmed it was the sensor, so I just had them replace it to be sure.

I appreciate you confirming this. Given your experience and the similar symptoms, I'll visit my workshop for a diagnostic assessment. A replacement sensor and labor should be about 95€.

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 107. The check engine light was driving me nuts, and the car just wasn't running smoothly. It turned out to be the knock sensor. Did you check the wiring to the sensor itself? Sometimes the connector gets corroded or damaged.
