Peugeot 107 oil temperature warning light

Hi, I've got a 2008 Peugeot 107 diesel with about 259k kilometers on the clock. Recently, the oil temperature warning light has been popping up on the speedometer. I've also had the oil pressure warning lamp light up a few times. Plugged it into a diagnostic tool and it's throwing up an error related to the engine oil temperature sensor. Anyone else had this? I'm thinking it might just be a dodgy connection, a cable or plug being faulty or something like that.

Interesting. I had something similar with my 107. Have you checked the sensor wiring thoroughly? Sometimes it's not just the plug but also damaged insulation causing shorts.

Thanks for the reply! When you say similar, was it the exact same symptoms? And did the error code point directly to the temp sensor?

Yes, same warning lights and diagnostic code pointed to the oil temperature sensor. Given the age, I'd advise having a workshop take a close look. It could be more complex than just a simple wiring issue.

You were right, it was more than just the connector. Took it to a mechanic, and they confirmed it was the sensor and a bit of corroded wiring. All fixed for 95€.
