Peugeot 107 Overvoltage Error

I'm encountering a persistent 'Overvoltage' error on my 2005 Peugeot 107 diesel, leading to a cascade of problems. The fault memory is full of related entries, and various systems are intermittently failing. The battery seems weak when starting, and I've observed general electrical malfunctions. The car currently has 13199 km. Could a heavily discharged or defective battery be the culprit, or am I potentially facing a more significant alternator failure or ECU issue?

Sounds familiar. I had similar overvoltage problems with my 107. You checked the voltage regulator?

Thanks! Where exactly is the voltage regulator located, and how would I go about checking it? Is there a specific voltage reading I should be looking for?

Don't waste your time trying to check it yourself. Take it to a workshop, that's what I did.

Following your advice, I took the Peugeot to a trusted workshop. They confirmed the overvoltage issue stemmed from a defective battery, which in turn caused damage to some of the surrounding components. Replacing the battery and rectifying the related electrical damage cost me around 290€, but now everything is running smoothly again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
