Peugeot 107 rail pressure sensor fault

My 2007 Peugeot 107 diesel is showing a check engine light intermittently at 74939 km, with engine stalls at idle and reduced power. Diagnostics say it's the rail pressure sensor. Anyone seen this? I think the sensor is bad.

Summary of the thread

A 2007 Peugeot 107 diesel exhibited intermittent check engine lights, engine stalling at idle, and reduced power at 74,939 km. Diagnostics indicated a fault with the rail pressure sensor. Although a clogged fuel filter was considered, the sensor was ultimately replaced, resolving the issue.

Sorry to hear about your 107. Has the fuel filter been changed recently? A clogged filter can cause similar symptoms by restricting fuel flow and affecting rail pressure.

The fuel filter was replaced about 10000 km ago. Could a partially blocked filter really cause such erratic sensor behavior, or should I focus on the sensor?

A newish filter makes blockage less likely, but it's still possible. Since the code points to the rail pressure sensor, that's plausible. If you don't have diagnostic equipment, get a workshop to confirm before replacing parts.

I had the sensor replaced at a service center. The issue is resolved. Total cost was 240€, including diagnosis.
