Peugeot 107 Rain Light Sensor Issue

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2007 Peugeot 107 diesel. The rain-light sensor seems to be faulty. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, and the automatic wiping mode in the rain isn't working. Also, the automatic headlight control and speedometer dimming are dead, and the lights switch on constantly. Mileage is at 56706 km. Any ideas?

Wow, that sounds familiar! I have a 107 too and experienced similar symptoms a while back. No auto wipers, lights acting up... It was driving me nuts. Could it be moisture getting to the sensor?

Moisture, eh? You mean like condensation inside the car? Or something else? I took a look at the sensor itself, and it looks fine from the inside.

I am by no means an auto expert. I think in my case it was bubbles forming under the gel pad on the windshield where the sensor sits. It messes with the sensor's ability to 'see' properly. I think you should let someone qualified check the unit with appropriate equipment.

Ah, bubbles under the gel pad, that's interesting! I'll check that out. Ended up going to a workshop, and you were right – bubbles were the cause! Cost me 62€ to fix it. Thanks for the tip!
