Peugeot 107 Software Errors

My 2008 Peugeot 107 (gasoline engine) is throwing a hissy fit. Got 142485 km on the clock and the software seems borked. Getting memory errors, electrical malfunctions, and the nav system is totally dead. I reckon it's an implausible control unit programming situation. Anyone else seen this before? I'm staring down the barrel of a 240€ bill, so any ideas before I bite the bullet?

I have a Peugeot 107 and I experienced something similar a while back. Were the symptoms intermittent at first, and then progressively got worse? Sounds like it could be related to your ECU. Have you tried a simple software reset to see if that clears the errors?

Cheers for the quick reply! Yeah, the symptoms started off pretty subtly, just the nav being a bit glitchy, but then it all went downhill fast. By software reset, you mean just disconnecting the battery for a bit, or something more involved? I don't have any fancy diagnostic tools myself.

Disconnecting the battery might not be sufficient in this case. Given the severity of the electrical malfunctions and the error codes, a proper recalibration of the ECU might be needed. It sounds like the programming of the control unit is indeed implausible as you suspected. I recommend that you go to a workshop that can check for ECU problems with proper diagnostic tools.

Thanks a bunch for confirming my fears and the cautious advice! I went to a local mechanic, they hooked it up to their machine, and you were spot on – ECU recalibration was the only way. Cost me the 240€ I was expecting, but at least the little 107 is back on the road and the nav is working again. Cheers!
