Peugeot 108 Oil Pressure Warning

Help! My 2020 Peugeot 108 with a gasoline engine is showing a warning light and the oil pressure lamp keeps lighting up. I checked the oil, and it looks… not good. Dark and sludgy. Could this be engine damage?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane. Same symptoms – oil pressure light and nasty looking oil. How many kilometers are on the clock, and when was the last oil change?

It's got 268426 km on it. I'm pretty sure I went over the maintenance interval… could that be it?

Yeah, exceeding the maintenance interval is likely your culprit. Old oil can turn to sludge and kill your oil pressure. I'd get it checked by a workshop ASAP to prevent any further damage. I hope it's just the oil filter clogged.

Thanks! Took it to the shop, and you were right. Turns out the oil was severely contaminated because I skipped the oil change. New oil, new filter, and I'm 165€ lighter. Lesson learned!
