Peugeot 2008 AC Failure

Esteemed members of the Peugeot community, I come to you with a vexing issue concerning my 2017 Peugeot 2008, equipped with a diesel engine. Recently, I've encountered a rather disheartening problem with the air conditioning system. To elaborate, the air conditioning no longer provides cooling, and the system refuses to engage altogether. A persistent warning light has illuminated within the speedometer, further compounding my unease. Upon consulting the error memory, a fault related to the refrigerant compressor has been logged. Could this possibly indicate a defective air conditioning control unit? I must confess, I'm rather perplexed by this situation and would greatly appreciate any insights you might offer. The vehicle has only covered 35169 km.

Hey there! I think I might have had something similar happen with my 2008. My AC just stopped working, too. Did you notice any weird noises before it went out completely? Because I swear I heard a faint clicking sound for a while before mine gave up the ghost. The error light showing up is a definite bummer, but what other symptoms are you seeing? Has the engine been running hotter than usual, or anything like that?

Greetings! Thank you for your swift response. I must admit, I did not perceive any unusual noises preceding the failure. The engine temperature remains within the normal range, and there are no other discernible anomalies. The sole indicators are the absence of cooling, the inability to activate the air conditioning system, the error message pertaining to the refrigerant compressor, and the aforementioned warning light. Could you perhaps elaborate on the specifics of the issue you encountered with your 2008, and detail the remedial actions undertaken to rectify it?

Okay, so no weird noises is different from my experience. But yeah, sounds like we both had AC failures. I'm no expert, but honestly, with the error code and everything you've described, it really does sound like something a workshop needs to look at. Could be a simple fix, but it could also be something more involved. Best to get it checked properly before you end up making it worse, I think.

I extend my sincere gratitude for your invaluable assistance and recommendations. Following your suggestion, I entrusted my Peugeot 2008 to a reputable workshop. After careful inspection, the diagnosis confirmed a defective air conditioning control unit, necessitating its replacement. The repair, inclusive of parts and labor, amounted to approximately 980€. Once again, thank you for your guidance in resolving this matter.
