Peugeot 2008 AdBlue Empty Error

I'm at my wit's end with my 2015 Peugeot 2008 diesel. The AdBlue tank is showing as empty, even though I filled it recently! I'm getting an error message, there's an error code, and now the engine won't even start. Could this be a faulty AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit? I've already clocked 230410 km. Is this a common problem affecting fuel efficiency and emissions control?

Interesting, I have a 2008 diesel too, and I had almost the exact same symptoms not long ago. Error message, service light on, the whole shebang. Did you notice any change in DEF fluid consumption prior to the error appearing? Was the tank capacity ever an issue before?

Good questions! No noticeable change in DEF consumption, to be honest. Tank capacity always seemed fine. So, are you thinking it's definitely the same AdBlue issue and not, say, some random sensor malfunction?

Given the symptoms you described - the error message, inability to start, and the mileage – it sounds very similar to what I experienced. While a sensor issue is possible, the AdBlue tank/dosing unit problem seems the more probable cause. To definitively diagnose, I'd strongly suggest a visit to a workshop. They can perform a proper diagnostic check and confirm the root cause before you start replacing parts.

Thanks for the insight! I took your advice and went to a workshop. Turns out it was the AdBlue output, just as we suspected. Repair cost me around 250€. At least it's sorted now!
