Peugeot 2008 automatic transmission Park issue

My 2015 Peugeot 2008 with a gasoline engine has about 140k on the clock. The automatic transmission seems to have lost it when it comes to 'Park'. The engine won't start, the check engine light is on, and the gearbox is shifting poorly. I plugged it in and got error codes. Could it be the control unit? Anyone else had this shift lock issue?

That sounds rough. I had a similar problem with my old Volvo V40 a while back. Engine wouldn't start, and the dash lit up. Were there any specific codes relating to the transmission or the shift linkage?

There were a few codes pointing towards the transmission control unit and something about an invalid signal from the gear position sensor. Was yours a dodgy control unit too? Was it an expensive fix?

Pretty much the same symptoms and error codes. The control unit was fried. I tried fixing it myself, but it's a job best left to the pros. I would take it to a shop, so they can check your shift lock and gear linkage.

Sounds like I'm facing the same thing. Looks like a trip to the workshop is needed. Estimate is around 1000€ to replace the control unit. At least I know what I'm dealing with now.
