Peugeot 2008 Gearbox Slipping

Hi, I'm having some trouble with my 2017 Peugeot 2008 diesel. It's got 262257 km on the clock. The gearbox is playing up big time. I'm getting shifting issues with the paddle shifters – they barely respond. The gearbox slips sometimes and the shifts feel really unclean, plus there's this grinding noise when it changes gear. Also, it keeps going into emergency mode and the error memory has logged a fault. From what I've read, it seems like the transmission control unit might be defective. Anyone else had this issue? Any tips on transmission diagnosis or control?

Greetings. I experienced a similar predicament with my Peugeot 2008. The symptoms you describe align with a defective transmission control unit. To ascertain the root cause, a comprehensive transmission diagnosis is imperative. Did you perform a diagnostic assessment to substantiate the error code? It is plausible that the control module is indeed the culprit.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I did get the error codes read. It's pointing towards the control unit, but I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced the same symptoms before I shell out for a new one. Was your gearbox slipping too? And how much did the transmission repair set you back?

Affirmative, the gearbox exhibited slippage, akin to navigating a vessel through turbulent waters. Considering the error code and the confluence of symptoms, the probability of a defective transmission control unit is considerably elevated. I recommend consulting with a qualified workshop to facilitate the transmission repair. The cost to remedy such a defect is significant, but delaying could engender more egregious complications.

Thanks. I appreciate the advice. I booked it into a workshop. Turns out the transmission control unit was indeed defective. They've replaced it and it cost me around 1000€. Shifting is smooth again!
