Peugeot 206 AC failure

Hi, I'm having a nightmare with my 2010 Peugeot 206 diesel. The air conditioning has completely given up. I'm getting an error code, the AC is blowing warm, and the system won't even switch on. The warning light is mocking me from the dash. Any ideas? I've checked the basic stuff.
