Peugeot 206 Audio Failure
Summary of the thread
The audio system in a 2006 Peugeot 206 stopped working, despite the fuses being intact. The issue affected both the radio and CD player, with no sound output. A potential cause was identified as a failing speaker, possibly indicated by crackly bass sounds. The problem was resolved by replacing a defective bass speaker, restoring the audio system's functionality.

Radio and CD don't work. No USB, not sure about aux. What do you mean by 'sound distortion'? Like crackly bass?

Exactly! Crackly sound, especially on bass, often means a failing speaker. If no sound from any source and fuses are good, maybe a speaker shorted the system or the head unit is bad. I'd take it to a workshop; car audio is tricky.

You were right, the bass speaker was defective. Workshop replaced it, and it's working now. Repair cost 280€. Thanks!

Similar issue on my 206. Does it happen with all audio sources, or just the radio? What about the auxiliary input or a USB stick? Any sound distortion before it died? Could be a failing speaker.
