Peugeot 206 boost pressure sensor issue

My 2007 Peugeot 206 diesel with 168k kilometers has a check engine light that keeps appearing. The car jerks noticeably when accelerating, and there's a loud hissing noise when I accelerate. Sometimes, the engine stalls when idling, and my fuel consumption has increased. The engine doesn't feel as powerful as it used to. I've read it could be a bad boost pressure sensor. The cable and plug connection seem a bit iffy. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Sounds familiar. I had almost the exact same symptoms on my 206. Check engine light, jerking, the works. It was indeed the boost pressure sensor. Likely the connection.

Thanks for the reply! When you say it was the connection, do you mean you just cleaned the contacts, or did you have to replace the whole sensor and wiring?

I tried cleaning the contacts first, but that didn't solve the problem permanently. Ended up having to visit the workshop, sadly. They confirmed the sensor was faulty, probably due to the bad connection damaging it over time.

Thanks a lot for your help! I took it to a local workshop, and they confirmed it was indeed the boost pressure sensor. They replaced it and also fixed the dodgy connector. Cost me about 95€ all in, but the car is running much better now. No more jerking or hissing!
