Peugeot 206 Climate Control Failure

My 2007 Peugeot 206 with a gasoline engine has an automatic temperature control failure. The automatic temperature control is inoperable, an error is stored, and the AC refuses to engage. My mechanic suspects a defective cable or plug connection of the temperature sensor. Could this be it? Has anyone else had similar climate issues? Any insights regarding sensor diagnostics or climate regulation?

Hey, I have a Peugeot 206 too and had some climate issues myself a while back. Does the air feel like it's blowing at all, or is it just completely dead? Also, have you checked the fuses related to the climate control system? Sometimes it's just a simple blown fuse. I’d start there before suspecting the sensor. Which error code is stored? Could be useful to narrow down the issue.

The blower appears to function normally, distributing air as expected, but without the cooling effect. I haven't examined the fuses yet. Where might I locate the relevant fuses for the climate control system? What error code did your Peugeot present when you experienced your climate anomalies?

Right, if the blower works, it's less likely a fuse for the whole system, but there might be separate ones for the AC compressor or the sensor itself. Check the fuse box diagram – usually in the owner's manual or online. As for the error code I got, I can't remember exactly, but honestly, after checking the fuses and connections I took it to a workshop. They identified the faulty sensor and replaced it quickly.

Following your recommendation, I'll inspect the fuses and connections pertinent to the climate control system. If that doesn't work, I'll take it to a qualified workshop. My mechanic quoted a repair cost of approximately 95€, which seems reasonable for resolving the faulty interior temperature sensor. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
