Ignition coil, eh? Is that easy to check myself? I'm no mechanic, but I can handle basic stuff. What exactly am I looking for with the cable and plug connection? Never done vehicle diagnostics before.

Okay, so the ignition coil sits on top of the spark plug and it transforms the 12V from your battery into a spark that ignites the fuel. Now, the cable and plug connection I mentioned can be loose or corroded, preventing a good connection. Given you're seeing multiple symptoms, and you're not super experienced, it might be best to take it to a workshop for proper diagnostics. It could be something else entirely, and they'll have the tools to pinpoint the exact issue and check the spark plug.

Cheers for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on - defective ignition coil! Cable connection was borked. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Runs like a dream now!

Sounds like a dodgy ignition coil. The symptoms you're describing – rough running, stalling, check engine light, and jerking – are all classic signs. An ignition coil is what gives the spark plug the high voltage it needs to ignite the fuel. When they fail, it can cause misfires, leading to those issues. Have you checked the cable or plug connection of the coil pack? A loose connection can cause all sorts of trouble.
