I haven't checked the hydraulic fluid yet. But, assuming the fluid level is nominal, do you think the defective cable/plug connection might still be the culprit?

It's possible, but hard to say for sure without proper diagnostics. A workshop visit might be necessary to pinpoint the fault.

Thank you for the advice. I followed your recommendation and had it inspected at a local shop. Turns out it was indeed a faulty connection, resulting in a 95€ repair bill. All is working now!
