Peugeot 206 power window failure

Hey, I'm having a frustrating issue with my 2007 Peugeot 206 (gasoline engine). The power windows have stopped working completely after I replaced the car battery. Now I have an error stored in the memory related to window regulator initialization. It seems like it was unsuccessful. Has anyone experienced this before? Any ideas on how to fix this without taking it to a shop? I already checked the fuses and the window switch.

I had something similar happen with my 206. The power windows wouldn't respond after some electrical work. Did you try the window reset procedure? Sometimes the system needs to relearn the window positions. I don't remember the exact steps, but it involves holding the window controls in a specific way. I can try to look it up.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I tried to follow the reset procedure as described in the manual, holding the button down for a few seconds after the window is fully closed/opened. Unfortunately without success. Is this what you were referring to, or is there another procedure that I am missing?

Yeah, that's the procedure I meant. If that's not working, and you've checked the obvious stuff like fuses, it might be a deeper problem. I ended up taking mine to a workshop. They sorted it out quickly, but I don't know exactly what they did. Sorry, I can't be more helpful!

Alright, thanks for confirming. I was hoping to avoid a trip to the workshop, but it seems like that's the only option left. Just got a quote for 290€, looks like it will be an expensive battery replacement. I will post the outcome once it's sorted.
