Peugeot 206 Start Stop Problem

Good point about the battery! It does a lot of short runs to the shops. I haven't had it tested, though. Is it possible for the car to run perfectly fine, other than the start-stop issue, even if the battery is faulty?

Yes, definitely. The car will run fine as long as there is enough juice to start the engine. The start-stop is usually the first thing to complain when the battery starts to degrade. With the Volvo it was exactly the same. Eventually, it got so bad that it struggled to crank, so I would advise getting it checked at a workshop sooner rather than later, or you may end up damaging the starter motor.

Thanks for the advice! You were spot on. Had the battery tested, and it was heavily discharged and defective. New battery fitted, start-stop is back in action, and the wallet is 290€ lighter. Much appreciated!

Sounds familiar. My old Volvo V50 had a similar start-stop issue, threw a code about low voltage, and occasionally left me stranded. Was your Peugeot doing a lot of short journeys before this started? The battery might not be getting enough charge to keep the start-stop happy. What condition is your battery in? Have you had it tested?
