Peugeot 207 ABS and Lateral Acceleration Sensor Issue

Hi, I'm having a bizarre issue with my 2011 Peugeot 207, gasoline engine. The ABS lamp keeps lighting up, and the system seems to be failing intermittently. I've scanned it, and there's an error stored related to the lateral acceleration sensor. I've checked fuses, but I am not sure where to go from here? Has anyone seen something like this before? I heard it might be Yaw rate or Steering angle, or something else completely! Getting a bit worried about electronic stability issues and safety warnings!

Sounds familiar. I had similar ABS issues with my old Opel Corsa – turned out to be a faulty control unit. Have you checked the wheel alignment? That can sometimes throw things off.

Thanks for the reply! A faulty control unit, that sounds expensive. And no, I haven't checked the wheel alignment. Would that really cause an ABS failure like this? Is lateral acceleration related to the wheel?

Yeah, it was a pain. The wheel alignment could be a simple thing to eliminate. But honestly, if it's throwing a lateral acceleration sensor error, and the control unit is known to be a potential cause, you're probably looking at that. I'd get it checked by a workshop before you waste too much time and money.

Thanks! I think you're right, time to bite the bullet and head to the workshop. They've confirmed that it is indeed the control unit and quoted me around 1000€. Thanks for your help!
