Peugeot 207 AC Problems

Alright guys, I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2009 Peugeot 207 (gasoline engine) is throwing some weird codes. The temp sensor on the heat exchanger seems cooked – keeps flagging an error, and I'm getting a warning light on the dash. To top it off, the AC won't kick on. Could it be the AC control unit that's busted, or am I chasing ghosts here?

Could be a few things. But intermittent HVAC issues with logged temp sensor faults? Uncommon, but not unheard of. Has the system been properly gassed recently? Those PSA ECUs throw fits if the refrigerant is low, playing havoc with the sensor readings. Need more details before I jump to conclusions though.

Good shout. I haven't checked the gas levels in ages. I'll have a look at that first thing tomorrow. But let's say it's not the refrigerant. What else could bork the whole system and cause the HVAC to just refuse to switch on?

Right, if the regas doesn't sort you out, then start looking at the AC control unit itself. Those units are finicky and known to fail on the 207, especially with the mileage you're clocking (220138 km!). Best bet at this point is to find someone with proper Peugeot diagnostic tools to confirm the ECU before splashing out. Otherwise, you’ll be bricking it. Seriously though, hit up a workshop so you don't keep guessing and start throwing money at it.

Cheers for the advice. I bit the bullet and took it to a shop. Turns out you were spot on – AC control unit was indeed fried. Nearly a grand to get it sorted 980€, but at least the AC is blowing cold again and the errors are gone. Appreciate the help!
