Peugeot 207 Anti-Theft Alarm Issue

Having trouble with the anti-theft alarm on my 2007 Peugeot 207 diesel. It's not working at all. The error memory shows an error related to it, but the alarm is completely inactive. Any ideas? It has about 137848 km on it.

I've experienced something similar with my 207. Was the alarm coded to activate the optical locking, meaning the indicators flash when locking/unlocking?

Optical locking? I'm not sure. How can I check if that's the case? Can that cause the whole system to fail?

Yes, in my case, the alarm system was indeed coded to activate the optical locking, and it caused the exact symptoms you're describing. I'd suggest a visit to a workshop, they should be able to recode it.
