Thanks! So you think it might be related to the wiring, particularly within the door itself? Was the problem consistent across all doors, or was it limited to one?

In my case, it was the driver's side door. It started intermittently, then became permanent. Honestly, tracing electrical faults is a nightmare. I ended up taking it to a workshop because I just didn't have the time or patience.

I had something similar with my 207. It drove me mad! Couldn't always lock the car, the alarm sometimes went off for no reason, it was super annoying. Have you checked the wiring harness where it enters the door? That's a common spot for wires to break, or the connector to get corroded.
