Peugeot 207 Check Engine Light and NOx Sensor

Hey, I've got a 2012 Peugeot 207 with a gasoline engine. Recently, the check engine light popped on, and the error memory is storing something related to the pollution control. Also I think it's exhaust leaking, it smells bad. My mechanic suspects a faulty NOx sensor, possibly just a bad connection, and quoted around 95€. Mileage is 28521 km. Anyone else run into this?

I think I had something similar with my 207. Check Engine light, exhaust smell... Was it definitely the NOx sensor? Did the codes point to that?

Yeah, the error codes definitely indicate the NOx sensor. The mechanic mentioned the cable or plug connection of the component might be defective. Was yours the same, just the sensor?

Okay, sounds very familiar. In the end I just took it to my local workshop and they fixed it.

Alright, thanks for confirming! I'll probably get it checked out at the workshop then. The 95€ seems reasonable considering the potential hassle. Will post a follow-up once it's done.
