Peugeot 207 engine stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Peugeot 207 with a gasoline engine and high mileage experienced engine stalling at idle and a check engine light. The issue was suspected to be a leak in the fuel tank ventilation system, possibly due to a defective activated charcoal filter. After professional diagnosis, it was confirmed that the activated charcoal filter was indeed defective, causing the problem, and it was repaired, resolving the issue.

The stalling doesn't seem linked to refueling. I haven't noticed hissing either. Could a faulty pressure sensor cause the check engine light and stalling together?

It is indeed possible! A faulty pressure sensor could be the culprit, affecting the fuel/air mixture and triggering both the light and stalling. Given the mileage, the EVAP system components are prime suspects. Have you considered getting it diagnosed by a professional? They have tools for that!

Thanks for the advice. The workshop confirmed the activated charcoal filter was defective, causing the leak. The repair cost 275€. Emission control is back!

That sounds like it could be an EVAP system problem. Is the engine stalling happening more often after refueling, or is there any unusual hissing sound when you open the fuel cap? This can be an indication of a system failure. Maybe it is the pressure sensor?
