Peugeot 207 heavy steering vibration

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2008 Peugeot 207 (gasoline engine). It's got about 196786 km on it. Recently, the steering has become really heavy, like the power steering is failing intermittently. Also, the steering wheel vibrates sometimes, especially at lower speeds. I've checked the power steering fluid, and it's fine. Could it be something with the electronic stability system or maybe a faulty sensor in the steering column? Any ideas?

I had similar symptoms with my Peugeot 207. Did you ever get any alignment problems?

Alignment problems? Not that I'm aware of. I mean, it tracks straight, but I haven't had it checked recently. Could that really be related to the heavy steering and vibrations? What was the cause of your issue?

Yes, the symptoms were identical. Turns out it was the coding of the steering angle sensor. I would recommend going to a workshop to get it checked.

Thanks for the tip! I took it to a mechanic, and you were right – it was the steering angle sensor! The coding was faulty. They replaced the sensor, and the total cost was 195€. Steering is back to normal now. I really appreciate the help!
