Peugeot 207 Overheating Slow Warm Up

My Peugeot 207 (2007, gasoline engine) is overheating and taking ages to warm up. I'm guessing a coolant leak, but can't find it. Could a dodgy thermostat or cooling circuit motor be to blame? I've read a map thermostat can cause this. Anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

A Peugeot 207 is experiencing overheating and slow warm-up issues. The initial suspicion is a coolant leak, but none is found. Possible causes include a faulty thermostat or cooling circuit motor, with a map thermostat also mentioned as a potential culprit. The recommended solution is to have a mechanic inspect the thermostat and entire cooling system for a proper diagnosis.

I had the same thing with my 207. Overheating and slow warm-up sounds like the thermostat. Have you checked the thermostat housing for leaks? That's where I'd start looking.

Thanks. I've checked the housing, but can't see anything obvious. When you had this, was it just the overheating and slow warm-up that made you think thermostat, or were there other signs?

Just the overheating and slow warm-up. Given the mileage, the thermostat is likely. I'd get a workshop to check the whole coolant system, especially the thermostat. They'll diagnose it properly.

Thanks, I'll book it in with a mechanic to check the thermostat and cooling system. Appreciate the help, hopefully that fixes it.
