Peugeot 207 Power Loss Battery Light
Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around a 2006 Peugeot 207 experiencing significant engine power loss and a persistent battery warning light. The problem is suspected to be linked to a faulty generator, possibly due to voltage drop issues or a worn serpentine belt affecting the alternator's performance. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle inspected by a professional to prevent further damage.

Thanks a lot for your insights! You mentioned a voltage drop and the serpentine belt. Was the voltage drop constant, or did it fluctuate? And how did you identify the serpentine belt as a potential issue? Any details would be greatly appreciated!

Well, I didn't have the equipment to properly measure the voltage, but the lights were definitely flickering more at lower RPMs, so that pointed towards voltage regulation problems, in my opinion. And regarding the serpentine belt, a mechanic recommended checking it because if it's worn, it might not properly drive the alternator. To be honest, I ended up taking it to a workshop, as it was beyond my capabilities. They sorted it out in the end. Hope this helps!

Thanks a million for sharing your experience! Knowing that someone else had the same issue and the workshop fixed it gives me some peace of mind. I'll get it checked by a professional as soon as possible. It's probably best to avoid further damage. I'll post the outcome when I know more!

Hey there, I also drive a Peugeot 207, and your symptoms sound awfully familiar! I remember last year, I had a similar issue with mine - reduced power, lights acting up, the whole shebang. It drove me nuts! Could be a voltage drop, so worth checking the alternator issue. I'd also take a look at the serpentine belt. Let me know how it goes!
